Colin Boyer - Chairman of the Board
Mr. Boyer is a professional engineer with 30 years oil and gas industry experience. He is an independent businessman and was formerly the President of Birchill Resources Partnership, an oil and gas company. Mr. Boyer's background includes being President of Boyer Petroleum Engineering Ltd. from 1985 to 2000, a consulting engineering firm providing services for field operations, production and reservoir analysis and management. Mr. Boyer served as a director of Thunder Energy Inc. from 1996 to 2005.
Doug A. Dafoe - President & CEO, Ember Resources Inc.
Mr. Dafoe is a Chartered Accountant (C.A.) with over 25 years industry experience. Prior to joining Ember, Mr. Dafoe was President and Chief Executive Officer of Thunder Energy Inc., a company he co-founded in mid-1996. From Thunder's inception to its reorganization in July 2005, Thunder grew from a $200,000 initial capitalization to about 10,000 boe/d.
Donald F. Archibald
Mr. Archibald is Chairman of Iteration Energy Ltd., an intermediate oil and gas company trading on the TSX. With over 20 years of industry experience, he has founded and served as Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of three successful TSX listed oil and gas companies, Cyries Energy Inc., Cequel Energy Inc. and Cypress Energy Inc. Mr. Archibald holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and a Masters in Business Administration.
Paul Beitel
Mr. Beitel is Senior Vice-President with ARC Financial Corporation. Mr. Beitel has twenty years of experience in the oil and gas industry, having spent the last ten years at ARC. He is a director of the Canadian Society for Unconventional Gas and serves on the board of directors of a number of Canadian private oil and gas companies. Mr. Beitelis a member of the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta and of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and has a Masters in Business Administration.
Dennis Balderston - Audit Committee Chair
Mr. Balderston is a Chartered Accountant and independent businessman with over 38 years of public accounting experience specializing in public and private energy sector companies. Previously, Mr. Balderston was a partner with Ernst & Young LLP from 1990 to 2005. He is currently a director of Cork Exploration Inc., VGS Seismic Canada Inc., EnerVest Energy and Oilsands Total Return Trust,EnerVest F TS Limited Partnership 2006, EnerVest FTS Limited Partnership 2006 II, and EnerVest FTS Limited Partnership 2007.
Thomas Drolet
Mr. Drolet holds a Masters of Science degree and has 36 years of experience in the electrical, nuclear and gas utility industries, both in North America and internationally. Currently Mr. Drolet is Vice-President,International Business with DTE Energy Technologies Inc., a high-technology company specializing in providing distributed generation products and services to solve the energy-related needs of residential, commercial and industrial customers.
Donald J. Nelson - Reserves Committee Chairman
Mr. Nelson is President of Fairway Resources Inc., a private firm providing consulting services to the oil and gas industry. Mr. Nelson is a Professional Engineer and has over thirty-five years of oil and gas experience,including corporate management, engineering and operations with exposure to companies of various sizes, including having served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Summit Resources Limited, a TSX listed oil and gas company. Mr. Nelson is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta and the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
Steven J. Pully
Mr. Pully is general counsel of Carlson Capital, L.P., a multi-strategy fund with $4 billion of assets under management. Mr. Pully has over 20 years of experience working in the investment industry. Mr. Pully was formerly an energy investment banker at Banc of America Securities, Inc. and Bear Stearns. Mr. Pully is licensed as an attorney and CPA in the State of Texas and is also a CFA Charterholder.
Jeff van Steenbergen, P.Eng.
Mr. van Steenbergen is a founding and General Partner of KERN Partners, a Calgary-based energy sector private equity firm. He holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Honours) in Civil Engineering and an MBA in International Business. Mr. van Steenbergen has been a finance professional for 19 years and has broad experience in private equity, capital markets, mergers and corporate finance. In addition he has 11 years of energy sector operating experience in North America, Asia and Western Europe, including eight years in offshore drilling operations.
